Our mission
Aphasie Québec – Le Réseau is a provincial association founded in 1999 that supports, represents and helps improve the quality of life of people living with aphasia across the province.
We bring together 14 associations located in 12 regions of Quebec. These organizations, members of our network, are here to help and support people with aphasia and their loved ones.

What is the difference between Aphasie Québec – Le Réseau (AQLR) and the Association québécoise des personnes aphasiques (AQPA)?
AQLR and AQPA have different but complementary roles in the field of aphasia in Quebec. AQLR is a provincial association of organizations whose role is to:
- bring together aphasia associations across Quebec and support their teams (management, support workers, volunteers)
- develop research projects and advance practices
- represent aphasia-related issues at the provincial level
AQLR does not directly offer activities or services to people with aphasia. AQPA, for its part, is a local (Montréal) organization that offers workshops, activities and support to people with aphasia and their loved ones. In summary:
- AQLR is the provincial association
- AQPA is a member organization of AQLR that offers these services directly to the public.
