Affected by aphasia since 2007 following 2 brain operations, I had a large mass (brain abscess) and I was between life and death. I survived by a MIRACLE thanks to my internationally renowned neurologist, Dr. Michel Bojanowski, and above all to my faith in God.
I had completely lost the ability to speak and, after rehabilitation with a speech-language pathologist and the mass in my brain shrinking, I regained my language ability. I was able to return to work at the end of 2008 as a human resources advisor at the SAQ — quite a challenge!
Today, my speech remains slightly affected, especially when I’m tired. A few stammers or words that come out unintelligible (I laugh about it!).
Here is a photo of me and my wife Véronique. She has been my caregiver, with love. Today, nearly 60 years old, that’s been 20 years! I retired from the SAQ after 35 years of service and I now work at a golf club. I am also a humanitarian aid missionary in the Dominican Republic.
