As part of the 3rd edition of the awareness campaign Mon deuxième premier mot (My second first word), we are proud to present the new version of the Aphasia Card, which allows people with aphasia greater independence in their everyday interactions. Created in 2006, the card needed to be updated to adapt it to a digital format, given the growing use of smart devices.

The card will help to:
- Encourage the people they speak with to adapt their communication so they show more patience, speak more slowly and pay closer attention to the needs of people with aphasia;
- Demystify aphasia so that this language disorder is no longer perceived by the public as a mental health disorder or a sign of intoxication.
How to get the card?
The 13 member organizations of Aphasie Québec · Le Réseau will receive copies of this new awareness tool to distribute to people with aphasia and their caregivers starting today. For professionals, speech-language pathologists and practitioners, a digital version will also be available to print or download onto a smart device.
If you are a person with aphasia and you wish to get the card, please contact the association nearest to you. To print the card or download it onto your smartphone, click here.
